Biodiversity focus: The project will identify the habitats on the existing campuses of the secondary schools mentioned above, and set about re-creating habitat where these have been damaged. There will be an emphasis on planting native trees, food producing trees and plants, native  woodlands conservation, hedgerow repair and construction, water features. A tree survey has already been completed on the extensive campus of Mount Temple, Malahide Road, Clontarf. This campus adjoins Clontarf Golf Course and we propose to examine the biodiversity associated with this course also. Similar surveys will be completed on other secondary school campuses mentioned above, with the possible addition of the Marino Institute teacher training college and All Hallows, Grace Park Road (which adjoins the Dominican College on Griffith Avenue, one of the participating second level schools), with whom we are having ongoing dialogue.  Given the extensive campuses mentioned above the feasibility of the re-introduction of the red squirrel into the habitats will be examined as part of our project. Our partners in collaboration have been chosen with a view to availing of their expertise and advice with regard to habitat protection and development.  The details of the funding of this initiative is dependent on the sponsorship, but given the availability of finance the possibilities are extensive.
