ECO-UNESCO proposes to run our annual National Youth ECO Forum on the theme of Biodiversity; develop an exhibition to include youth photos of nature for display at the Forum and to develop an Urban Nature Trail looking at biodiversity in the city as part of the Forum.
To build knowledge and awareness in young people of biodiversity, what it is, where it is and how we protect it.
To develop an appreciation of the biodiversity in their surrounds.
Objectives:

  • To run the annual National Youth ECO-Forum on the theme of Biodiversity as part of our work for the UN International Year of Biodiversity.
  • As part of the Forum activities -to develop a youth friendly Urban Nature Safari which will explore the biodiversity of the city.
  • To develop an exhibition which will comprise – a photo competition taken by young people of nature; existing ECO-UNESCO biodiversity materials including our Biodiversity Superpowers Game and 4Seasaons Activity pack. This exhibition will be on display at the National Youth ECO Forum and in the Greenhouse – we will also have an online display of all photos.

Merrion Square
St. Stephens Green
Trinity College
Explore with young people what they can do to protect and conserve biodiversity in their areas.
