International Year of Biodiversity 2010Notice Nature2010 is International Year of Biodiversity. Many IEN member groups are contributing to a global celebration of biodiversity which aims to increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity and promote action to tackle the loss of many of our species and habitats.

Biodiversity Week will take place from 21st to 30th May 2010, and coincides with United Nations International Day for Biodiversity on 22nd May.

In addition to the environmental groups listed below Biodiversity Week will be celebrated by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Notice Nature, the  National Parks and Wildlife Service, the local authorities and a wide range of other organisations. Events are planned nationwide.

Find out more about BiodiversityBiodiversity Week provides us with a great opportunity to learn more about our native plants and species and also to find out how we as individuals and as communities can help to ensure the survival of our wildlife for future generations.  It’s also a great way to enjoy ourselves in pleasant surroundings.“
