A new eventful website for greener gatherings in Northern Ireland has just been launched. The green event portal aptly named www.takesplace.info is set to promote the Province’s sustainable events, activities and blogs free of charge, with links to other environment-caring websites locally, nationally and internationally.
With sustainability as the driving force behind the site, any events that fit the bill may be uploaded with accompanying image and interesting feedback or news included on the site’s blog.
It is envisaged that the site will become part of the existing green network and provide a common link between organisations, event organisers, exhibitors and visitors alike.
Takesplace owner Gill McNeill said: “There are loads of really excellent sites out there but I couldn’t find one which promoted only green events, this is why I decided to launch takesplace.info”
“As an event organiser, I know how many great fairs, festivals and other happenings run around Northern Ireland, many promoting the environment from art exhibitions to music events and health fairs to local food tastings.”
Continuing: “I feel the educational aspect of events is very important. Education about the environment is crucial to future generations. The site is therefore ideal for events held in places of learning, whether these are lectures, fundraisers, fashion shows etc.”
“It doesn’t matter how big or small an event is. If it’s green be seen!”
On the name Gill said: “How often has someone asked . . . and when does that take place again? As I like a straightforward, simple approach to life I just thought the name summed up the site!”
Other site options allow for paid for inclusion of a promotional page, flyer, home page or advertisement.
