When it comes to retro, Castle Espie’s annual Green Living Fair in September is one of the best venues for bringing vintage into view.
Helping to bring fashion into this year’s event, one of Northern Ireland’s leading recycling chains, Re:Store, will once again organise the daily fashion show.
Fab fashions from the Belfast Vintage Shop based in Royal Avenue, will take to the floor for this year’s ‘Retro-Vision’ shows. To complement the Green Wedding marquee, the show will also include wedding and occasional wear.
The Re:Store Retro-Vision fashion show is just one aspect of greener living at the fair this year. The event will also include areas dedicated to renewable energy, sustainable living, better food, green weddings, talks, debates, and workshops.
A special weekend ticket is available for those attending the event on Saturday, giving half price admittance on Sunday. A free half hourly shuttle bus, courtesy of Translink, will leave from Comber Square from 10.30am. Parking at the centre costs £4 for those bringing their car to the venue.
For those who are feeling more energetic, Sustrans will operate an escorted group cycle to the event from Holywood Arches. Free entry will be available to all those who participate in this cycle. Registration is essential for this and more information is available from Sustrans directly Tel: 028 9043 4567.
